Set in beautiful gardens, The Digby was once a four-star hotel and features in Thomas Hardy’s The Woodlanders. With regular refurbishments – most recently in 2018 – it offers high-quality accommodation and three outdoor areas for boys to relax, play and reflect.
This space helps foster a calm, happy and mutually supportive environment. While sport is a long-standing strength, boys’ achievements in academics, music, art and drama are equally celebrated.
The Digby reflects Sherborne’s wider values – kindness, compassion and community. It’s a joyful place for boys to grow and thrive.

Christopher Foyle
Christopher joined Sherborne in 2023 as Head of Geography and was previously Assistant Housemaster of Lyon. He holds a Geography degree from Newcastle University and a PGCE from the University of Cambridge.
A keen sailor, swimmer and athlete, he brings energy and breadth to House life.
