In the Heart of it All
Where community isn’t an add-on – it’s the main event.
At Sherborne Prep, we don’t just admire the town from afar – we’re part of its rhythm. The high street, with its honeyed stone and tempting delis, is a hop, skip and snack away. (Yes, we know the exact step count to the best sausage roll.)
Our pupils roll up their sleeves and get stuck in – writing to care home residents, decorating trees for Sherborne’s Christmas Festival, teaming up with local primaries, and joining forces with The Sherborne for shared projects and good causes.
Litter-picking? Bake sales? Thoughtful letters and shoebox gifts? All part of it.
Community Involvement
Community involvement isn’t an occasional extra – it’s stitched into the fabric of school life.
From turning plastic waste into public art to raising over £4,000 for Sherborne Community Kitchen, our pupils are hands-on, outward-looking, and genuinely proud to make a difference.
And it’s not just local. Year 8s dive into biodiversity studies with Dorset Wildlife Trust at Wild Woodbury. Younger pupils post handmade shoeboxes to care homes. Wherever they are, they show up with glue sticks, muddy boots, and big hearts.
Because here, learning about the world means helping shape it – one good deed (or bake) at a time.
