International Applicants
Sherborne Girls is proud to welcome families from across the globe.
As a full-boarding school — where 90% of our girls board and enjoy a vibrant, seven-day-a-week school life — we offer a rich, inclusive experience for pupils from a wide variety of international backgrounds.
We currently welcome around 10% British expatriates and 15% foreign nationals, creating a warm, multicultural community where every girl feels known and supported. A dedicated member of staff oversees the pastoral care of our international pupils, ensuring a smooth and happy transition into school — and the start of a truly transformative experience.
Joining Sherborne Girls from Overseas
We welcome applications directly from parents or through trusted education agents.
Registration
International parents must complete the registration form, pay a non-returnable fee of £300 to secure a place for their daughter to enter the admissions and assessment process.
Parents are very welcome to visit the School before registration.
Entry Process
- First-language English speakers follow the standard entrance assessment process.
- Non-native English speakers will have their language skills assessed during the admissions process.
If we feel additional information is needed to assess a candidate’s proficiency in English we may request a UKiset test. If your daughter has already completed this assessment, please send her results to the Admissions Team upon registration.
If needed, girls can access individual English support lessons to strengthen language skills.

Places are offered throughout the year, depending on availability and the strength of the application.
To accept an offer, international applicants are asked to:
- Pay a deposit equal to one term’s boarding fee
