Hanford Core & Hanford Plus

Hanford welcomes day girls in all our year groups; they are an important part of our school community and totally integrated with their boarding peers. It is hard to differentiate between a day girl and a boarder as all pupils are so thoroughly immersed in our busy and exciting school day. However, we know that for our younger pupils there is not a ‘one size fits all’ model for the structure of the school day, and so we have developed a flexible Day Place offer for families which is already proving popular.
For girls in Years 3, 4 and 5 we have introduced ‘Hanford Plus’ and ‘Hanford Core’, letting families choose which option suits them best.
Hanford Core
Hanford Core is ideal for families and/or girls who prefer a shorter school day.
The girls join in with all aspects of the busy school day, and the many extra curricular activities taking place as part of the school timetable (dance, gymnastics, Art (taught by a specialist teacher), Handwork (our name for design and textiles, taught by a specialist teacher), Music lessons (taught by a specialist teacher), French (taught by a specialist teacher) sport, sport fixtures, riding and riding lessons, but they do their prep, and have supper, at home.
Girls are dropped off between 8.15 – 8.25am and are collected after lessons finish at 4.40pm.
**The school fees have been adjusted to reflect the shorter day.
Hanford Plus
Hanford Plus is for families who would like their daughter to embrace all the opportunities and activities that come with a longer school day and a busy, vibrant Prep School community.
The girls stay after lessons and sports finish to participate in a range of enrichment activities, extra-curricular clubs, prep supervision, and a delicious supper with their friends. Hanford Plus also offers parents greater flexibility with drop-off and pick-up times. Girls can arrive early, between 7.45am and 8.25am, and join the boarders for breakfast in the Dining Hall.
In the evenings, parents can collect their daughters after supper up until 7.00pm, Monday to Friday. Saturday morning school and activities are also included as part of Hanford Plus.
