Scholarships

Sherborne Girls offers several merit-based scholarships, exhibitions and bursaries for girls registered to enter the School at 11+, 13+ and 16+.

Scholarships are available in the categories of Academic, Art & Design, Drama, Music and Sport. (11+ in Academic and Music only).

It is a condition of an award that a girl completes her Sixth Form education at Sherborne Girls and maintains a high standard of work to retain the scholarship. Scholarships may be combined with bursarial support.

Junior Scholarship Information

Scholarships are awarded in the following areas: 

Please note: 11+ Academic Scholarship candidates will be selected by the School as part of the Assessment and Boarding Taster weekend in late November.

They will be assessed via Quest (Atom) assessments and not via separate papers.

Sixth Form Scholarship Information

Being recognised as a scholar at Sherborne Girls is an honour and privilege. We provide an extensive Sixth Form Scholarship Programme designed to support and guide exceptional pupils across a range of disciplines, including Academic, Art and Design, Drama, Music and Sport. Girls wishing to be considered for a scholarship must be registered for entry to Lower Sixth (Year 12) in September 2026.

Sixth Form Scholarship Application Forms

All candidates who wish to be considered for a Scholarship must be registered to sit the Sixth Form 2026 Entrance Assessments.

To register for these assessments please complete this form. Candidates who wish to be considered for an Academic Scholarship should indicate this on the form.

Applicants for other scholarship disciplines, should complete the relevant form below:

Please note: 16+ Academic Scholarship candidates will be selected by the School as part of the Assessment Day in November. They will sit the same General Paper as all other applicants but will be assessed and interviewed as a potential scholar.

They carry prestige and the expectation of continued commitment. All awards require recipients to complete their Sixth Form education at Sherborne Girls, and to maintain high standards in their area of award throughout their time with us. 

Scholarships can be enhanced with means-tested bursarial support, helping ensure Sherborne Girls remains accessible to talented pupils from a wide range of backgrounds.
