At Sherborne Girls, academic success is built on strong relationships, expert teaching and an individualised approach to learning.
We don’t simply prepare girls for exams — we nurture intellectual curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning. Our pupils consistently achieve excellent academic outcomes and secure places at leading universities in the UK and around the world. Whether studying sciences, the arts, languages or humanities, girls are supported and challenged to reach their personal best.

These outcomes reflect not only their talent and determination, but also the close support of tutors, subject specialists and our wider pastoral and academic teams.
Girls leave us with the qualifications, habits of mind and sense of purpose they need to flourish at the next stage of their education — and far beyond.
Why We Don’t Appear in League Tables
We choose not to take part in published league tables, as they do not accurately represent our pupils’ full academic achievement.
This is due to the Department for Education currently omitting IGCSE results from their reporting — including English, Mathematics and History, and from 2026, French, Spanish and German.
Despite this, we remain fully transparent in publishing our own results, which are detailed below.

Destinations
Our girls leave Sherborne Girls with outstanding academic results, a strong sense of purpose, and the confidence to thrive at the next stage of their education.
In 2025, of those applying, 100% of pupils secured an offer at one of their chosen universities including 77% from Oxford, Cambridge, and Russell Group.
Sherborne Girls leavers go on to study academically rigorous and creatively enriching courses at top universities in the UK and overseas.
We are also expanding our guidance around degree apprenticeships and international university options.
A dedicated member of staff supports pupils who are considering alternative pathways — ensuring that every girl receives tailored advice to find the right course, route, and destination for her.
