Mrs Jayne Dart
Deputy Head, Co-curricular and Operations
Jayne joined Sherborne Girls in 2010 having spent her early career in the military. She has held a variety of roles in the School including five years as Director of Sport, Adventure & Leadership and as a board member of Sherborne Sports and Leisure Ltd. She gained valuable pastoral experience through her role as Assistant Housemistress in Wingfield Digby and for six years was involved in the day-to-day running of the school as Director of Administration. She has accumulated over 13 years experience on the Senior Leadership Team.
Passion for Exploration
Her current role as Deputy Head Operations and Co-curricular draws on her extensive background in planning and organisation stemming from her initial training in the Army, both at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and at the Junior Division Staff College. Since leave the military she has worked for the Foreign Office in a Community Liaison role and for the Ministry of Defence in project management.
Through her time growing up in West Africa, Jayne developed a sense of adventure and a passion for exploration. She and her husband have lived and worked in a number of countries including Germany, Bosnia, Ukraine, Austria, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Aside from her experience in project management, she holds a BSc in Geology and Geography, is a qualified expedition leader and a Level 2 endurance running coach. Both her children spent time in international schools in Kyiv and Vienna, finishing their education at boarding schools in the UK.
