Mrs Jessica Briggs
Senior Deputy Head, Pastoral
As the Senior Deputy Head with responsibility for pastoral Jessica oversees all aspects of the pastoral care of the pupils and the boarding life of the School, including the recruitment, training and line management of the HMs, the Health Centre staff and the School Counsellors. Jessica is also part of the School's safeguarding team and is a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Cultivating a Culture of Life-long Wellbeing
Jessica is particularly focussed on cultivating a culture of life-long wellbeing in the pupils at Sherborne Girls, ensuring that they develop into confident and well-rounded women of the future.
As a trained ISI Inspector, Jessica is at the forefront of policy and procedures for Schools and is committed to ensuring that Sherborne Girls exceeds the standards required to create a vibrant, safe and happy community. Jessica has held a number of pastoral positions in both day and boarding schools, single-sex and co-educational settings, including being a Housemistress at both Cheltenham Ladies College and Dean Close.
Jessica read English Literature at Reading University before completing her Graduate Teacher Training Programme at Downside School.
