Rebecca joined Sherborne Girls as Deputy Head (Academic) in 2024 and advises the Head on academic appointments, manages the professional development of staff, line-manages Heads of Department and Heads of Year, is a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and is an Independent Schools Inspectorate Team Inspector.
Ecouraging Girls to be Themselves
Rebecca was educated at a girls’ grammar school and is delighted to have joined Sherborne Girls where the girls are encouraged to be themselves and explore independence and inquisitiveness in their approach to academic studies. After a career in research, during which she completed her PhD in biological sciences, Rebecca has taught in three previous schools.
She has held roles as Assistant Head (Teaching & Learning), has been a day Housemistress and lived in several boarding schools while her husband was a boarding Housemaster, and has held the position of Head of Science and Biology.
